NOW,lets talk a little more about the RULES of a basketball game.
In a basketball game, its a violation which is also known as 'travelling' in the basketball language, to walk with the ball(by taking three steps without bouncing the ball at least once, carrying it, or to double dribble(to hold the ball and then resume dribbling).
Various violations are generally called "fouls". Disruptive physical contact (a personal foul) is penalized, and a free throw is awarded to the offensive player if he/she is fouled while shooting the ball. While a technical foul may be issued when certain infractions occur, most commonly for UNSPORTSMANLIKE conduct on the part of a player. And this actually let the opposing team to earn a FREE THROW!
